Join us on Thursday, April 6th for a look inside the hit film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish with an amazing team of artists from DreamWorks Animation!
The Academy Award-nominated sequel was released last year and found the hero cat trying to restore the first eight of his nine lives. Helping to bring his journey to life was VFX Supervisor, Mark Edwards, Head of Character Animation, Ludovic Bouancheau, Effects Lead (and Gnomon graduate), David Chow, CG Supervisor, Sondra Verlander, and CFX Artist, Pramita Mukherjee, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the Gnomon Stage!
During this campus event, our panel will break down their work and share shots from the giant fight and the final wolf battle. Viewers will hear about the decision to use stepped animation along with additional line work, the challenges surrounding the chains and fur, and how the unique painterly look and graphic scenes were generated!
If you’re interested in character animation, visual effects, and lighting, or are simply a fan of the famous feline, you won’t want to miss this behind-the-scenes look at Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The DreamWorks panel will present for the first hour and leave plenty of time for audience questions, so give the film another watch and get those questions ready!
Free parking will be available with validation.
