2024 Rookie Awards: Gnomon Named #1 Visual Effects and Game Design School in the U.S.

The 2024 Rookie Awards results are in, and Gnomon is proud to have been ranked as the #1 Visual Effects School in the U.S. and the #1 Game Design School in the U.S. for the year. Additionally, Gnomon was named one of the Top 5 3D Animation Schools in the World, reflecting the school’s continued commitment to excellence in digital arts education. 

The Rookie Awards have grown into one of the largest and most respected contests for digital art students worldwide. What sets the Rookies apart is its reliance on the quality of student work, with this year's rankings based on submissions from over 6,800 students. An international panel of 180 industry professionals reviewed 67,000 projects to determine which schools best prepare their students for careers in the creative industries. 

Max Dayan, Gnomon’s Director of Education, shared his thoughts on the school’s recognition: 

“It’s such an honor for us to be recognized in these rankings. Our students work incredibly hard, and it’s rewarding to see their creativity and dedication acknowledged on an international stage. These rankings also reflect the expertise of our instructors, who are industry professionals, and the strength of our curriculum, which is designed to give students a solid understanding of the 3D production pipeline.” 

In addition to being named the top school in visual effects and game design, Gnomon also ranked highly in several other categories, including the Top 50 Creative Schools list. According to the Rookies, this list represents the "absolute best in creative education" and highlights schools that consistently produce top-tier talent across a range of creative disciplines. 

“To rank in so many categories is really impressive,” Dayan continued. “It speaks to the broad scope of our programs and how well we prepare our students for the demands of the industry. We’re proud of what our students and instructors accomplish here every day.”
