Join us on Thursday, March 13th at the Dell Stage on Gnomon's campus for an event with storyboard artist Rembert Montald!
Currently a Storyboard Artist at LightSpeed LA working on the upcoming game Last Sentinel, Rembert will share the art of storyboarding for games and animation. He will break down his process, share professional insights, and walk through storyboards from Last Sentinel, Secret Level, and his time at Riot Games.
Rembert’s work, featured in League of Legends, VALORANT, and Legends of Runeterra, blends dynamic composition with strong narrative flow. He will demo his techniques live, offering guidance on the dos and don’ts of visual storytelling and composition, giving attendees an opportunity to learn directly from his hands-on process.
Following the demo, presentation, and Q&A, Rembert will join fellow storyboard artist Esther Wu for in-person portfolio reviews. Esther is a Storyboard Artist at LightSpeed LA and previously worked as a Visual Development Artist on Netflix’s Emmy-winning Blue Eye Samurai.
Speakers

Rembert Montald
Storyboard Artist
Rembert Montald believes the best way to tell a story is to show it. His incredible skills have been put to use for projects such as League of Legends, VALORANT, Harbor, Legends of Runeterra, and Amazon series: Secret Level.
Intrigued by the intricacies of visual storytelling, Rembert pursued an education in animation and art in Brussels, Belgium, and later Gobelins, Paris. After working on a variety of things, including storyboards for animated movies and even theme parks, he decided Belgium was a little too small for him. Since then, he’s lived and worked all over the globe, including Croatia, Germany, Portugal, and the U.S.A.
He worked at Riot Games for almost seven years, but he is currently collaborating with Lightspeed LA on their upcoming title Last Sentinel.
In March 2024 his sketchbook Figured Out was released by Editions Caurette.

Esther Wu
