League of Legends to Love Death & Robots: The 3D Animation of BUCK

Join us on Thursday, November 30th at the Gnomon Stage for an evening with BUCK as we explore their 3D animation projects!

Since 2004, BUCK LA has grown into a global creative company that provides industry-leading 3D animation to a diverse clientele including Sony, Nike, Riot Games, and Netflix.

During this event, attendees will hear from four talented artists (Marc Steinberg, Kien Hoang, Chloe Tu, and Alfonso Petersen O'Farrill) about their 3D career paths, previous work experience, and the advantages of interdisciplinary skills when working on modeling, lighting, shading, composition, look development, and VFX. They will also share incredible case studies from their work on Love, Death & RobotsLeague of Legends, Brawl Stars, and branding campaigns for Truly, Airbnb, and more!

Whether you're an industry professional or an aspiring artist, this event will broaden your understanding of a non-traditional animation pipeline. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn about BUCK's production philosophy, creative process, and company makeup, which fosters a culture where every team member has an active part in shaping a project's final result. We'll also hold a Q&A after the presentation, so get those questions ready!

As always, enjoy some pizza and networking before the main event! Doors open at 6:30, with the event starting at 7:00 p.m. Convenient, free parking is available at the Echelon Television Center Complex on Romaine Street. RSVP now to secure your spot and access exclusive Dell discounts thanks to our event sponsor!

He has been with BUCK since 2018, shortly after completing his MFA Fellowship at the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD) at Ohio State University. At BUCK, he enjoys wearing different hats, whether it's leading projects, designing, lighting, look-deving, compositing, or mentoring young artists. The one hat that he loves wearing the most is procedural shading, which embodies the art of factoring complex problems into more manageable parts, a crucial principle that can be applied to any discipline.
