Join us on Thursday, November 7th, at the Dell Stage on Gnomon’s campus for an in-depth presentation with Madhav Shyam, Creature Supervisor at Ghost VFX!
Madhav will dive into the latest tools and techniques for creature FX, performance capture, and animation, sharing insights from his work on award-winning projects in the visual effects industry.
Madhav will kick off the event with a look back at his journey in VFX and Ghost VFX’s contributions to the field, including their Emmy-winning creature work on Star Trek: Discovery. From muscle simulation with Ziva VFX to character FX in Houdini and rigging with FACS in Maya, Madhav will showcase the powerful tools used to bring creatures to life in production. The event will also feature live demos, offering attendees a firsthand look at advanced techniques in Houdini and Maya.

Madhav Shyam
Creature Supervisor at Ghost VFX
Madhav Shyam works as a Rigging Lead and Creature Supervisor at Ghost VFX in Copenhagen. He has over eight years of experience working in the industry, during which time, he’s amounted a wealth of knowledge in Rigging, Animation, and Creature FX (CFX).
These days, his primary focus is on the development of creatures in a production environment. Over the years, he’s had the opportunity to work on multiple feature films including Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Troll, Slumberland, and 65. He was also credited by The Academy for the Emmy Award-winning work done on Star Trek: Discovery in 2021 for best Visual Effects, and for The Dragon Prince in 2020 for Outstanding Children’s Animated Series.
